Absolutely. Fast ferry from Dar to Stone Town is 2 hours, around $35 each way. Leave early morning, spend the day in Stone Town or head to the beaches, return by evening. On non-match days this is one of the best day trips you can do anywhere in Africa.

AzamMarine fast ferry is the one to book. Don't do the budget slow ferry if you want to enjoy the day.
