Kampala punches above its weight. Do the Baha'i Temple (stunning view over the city), the Uganda Museum, and the Kasubi Tombs. Nightlife in Kabalagala and Kisementi is excellent. For day trips: Jinja and the Source of the Nile (white-water rafting, bungee jumping) and Ssese Islands on Lake Victoria.

The Nile Special beer at a Kampala rooftop watching the sunset is a rite of passage. Kabalagala on a Friday night is a whole vibe.
