Must-eats: Rolex (chapati rolled with eggs and veg — best street food on the continent), matoke (steamed green banana stew), nyama choma, and fresh tilapia from Lake Victoria. For restaurants, Gatto Matto and 1000 Cups are excellent in Kololo.

The Rolex alone is worth the trip. Get one from a street vendor outside the Old Taxi Park — 5,000 UGX and absolutely incredible.
