Yes — and this is one of the most unique things you can do anywhere on earth. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is about 8 hours from Kampala. The permit is $700 (non-negotiable, set by Uganda Wildlife Authority). Plan at least 2 non-match days for this. Permits sell out months in advance.

Book permits at least 6 months out. Worth every penny — nothing prepares you for standing 3 feet from a mountain gorilla.
