FIFA World Cup 2030 · Agadir

AgadirBeach resort. Atlantic coast. World Cup 2030.

Agadir is unlike any other FIFA 2030 host city. Morocco's premier beach resort combines a 70,000-seat stadium with 9km of Atlantic coastline and over 300 days of sunshine annually. Watch a World Cup match and walk to the beach. No other host city offers this.

The stadium

Stade Adrar (Hassania Agadir)

The Stade Adrar is being expanded from its current 45,000+ to 70,000 for FIFA 2030 — making it one of Morocco's largest venues. A modern arena positioned between the Atlas Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. Group stage matches expected. The backdrop from the upper tiers includes ocean and mountain views simultaneously.

Getting around

Transport

Agadir is a resort city — most travel is by petit taxi or hotel shuttle. Public transport is limited compared to other Moroccan cities. Taxis are cheap and readily available. For inter-city travel, the ONCF bus (Supratours) runs to Marrakech (3 hours) and Casablanca (5 hours).

Arriving

Getting here

Al Massira Airport (AGA) is 25km from the city. Direct flights from London Gatwick (EasyJet, TUI), Manchester, Paris, Amsterdam and multiple European cities. From West Africa, connect through Casablanca (Royal Air Maroc, 1.5 hours). No direct flights currently from sub-Saharan Africa — Casablanca is the hub.

Food

What to eat

Agadir's seafood is extraordinary — fishing boats land catches daily on the Atlantic coast. The fishing port area has simple restaurants cooking the freshest fish you will eat anywhere. Argan oil, produced only in this region of Morocco, appears in everything from salad dressing to tagine. Try fresh argan oil with amlou (argan, almond and honey paste) for breakfast.
