Budget traveller: $60–80/day (hostel, street food, local transport). Mid-range: $120–180/day (3-star hotel, restaurants, Bolt). Comfortable: $250–400/day (4-star, nice dinners, activities). Nairobi is the most expensive of the three cities. Kampala is by far the cheapest.

Kampala you can eat incredibly well for $10. Nairobi more like $20–30 for a proper sit-down meal.
