Book now. Hotel inventory for major tournament weeks in Madrid, Barcelona and Casablanca is already being reserved by tour operators and corporate travel companies. Prices will rise significantly when the draw drops and the fixture schedule confirms match locations. The time to lock in accommodation is 2026–2027, not 2029.
Where to stay in each host city
Price ranges are estimates at 2026 rates. Expect a 30–60% premium on listed prices during match weeks in European host cities.
Stay near Bernabéu if attending matches there — Metro Line 10 goes directly to the stadium. Argüelles is a 15-minute walk. Prices within 1km of the stadium will be highest during match weeks.
Avoid tourist traps in Las Ramblas — noisy, overpriced, pick-pocket heavy. Eixample has excellent mid-range options with easy Metro access to Camp Nou (2 lines serve the stadium area).
Casablanca hotels offer the best value of any FIFA 2030 host city. The Gauthier neighbourhood is clean, safe and well-served by taxis. Book early — international interest in Casablanca will be higher than any previous African football event.
Riads in the Medina are the authentic Marrakech experience — beautifully decorated, quiet courtyards, but navigating the narrow streets to find them is part of the adventure. First-timers may prefer the modern Gueliz district for ease.
Lisbon prices are significantly lower than Madrid or Barcelona. The Chiado area is central with excellent restaurants. Direct Metro to Estádio da Luz takes 15 minutes. Book refundable rates if the fixture schedule isn't confirmed yet.
Porto is the cheapest of the European host cities. The Baixa district is central and well-connected. Ribeira (waterfront) is beautiful but very tourist-heavy in summer. Metro Blue Line connects directly to Estádio do Dragão.
How to book FIFA 2030 accommodation
Book refundable rates now
Until the fixture schedule confirms which matches are in which cities, book cancellable rates. Most hotel platforms allow free cancellation up to 2–3 days before arrival. Lock your preferred area at current rates.
Avoid non-refundable rates yet
Non-refundable rates are tempting for the discount, but if the match you planned to attend moves city or your travel dates change, you're stuck. Wait for the schedule before committing to non-refundable bookings.
Consider apartments
For groups of 4 or more, serviced apartments are often cheaper than equivalent hotel rooms and give you a kitchen — useful for breakfast and reducing food spend. Platforms like Airbnb and Booking.com both list them.
Check stadium distance
Not all hotel locations are equal on matchday. Confirm the Metro or bus route from your hotel to the stadium before booking. Walking distance hotels command a premium and sell out first.
Travel between cities
