Togo coach Patrice Neveu has handed Henri Koudossou his first international call-up, naming a 25-man squad for opening qualifiers against Burundi and Zambia.
Togo coach Patrice Neveu has named a 25-man squad for the opening AFCON 2027 qualifiers, with Arminia Bielefeld right-back Henri Koudossou the standout addition — the only true newcomer in a squad otherwise built around recalls and established regulars.
The Hawks open at home to Burundi at the Kégué Stadium on 25 September, before travelling to Ndola to face Zambia four days later.
Koudossou joins a well-travelled defence
Koudossou slots into a defensive group spanning multiple leagues: Steven Nador (Modena FC, Italy), Gustave Akueson (Bastia, France), Kevin Boma (RB Salzburg, Austria), Pierre Nadjombe (Magdeburg, Germany) and Abdoul-Sabourh Bode (TP Mazembe, DR Congo) among them. Kennedy Boateng, meanwhile, misses out entirely through injury.
Neveu has also recalled Youssifou Atte, Augustin Drakpé, Yaw Annor and Zuberu Sharani, giving several previously overlooked players a route back into the squad.
The established core
Djene Dakonam (Getafe), Kodjo Fodoh Laba (Al Sharjah) and FC Cincinnati's Kévin Denkey anchor a squad that blends European-based regulars with players from clubs across Africa and the Middle East — a genuinely global spread even by modern squad standards.
Three goalkeepers in contention
Steven Mensah, Malcolm Barcola and Achirafou Yaya compete for the gloves, giving Neveu options even with an inexperienced group overall in that position.
