How the Cantravu Card Works: Load, Browse, Book, Show Up
Load it. Browse 100+ experiences. Book your date. Show up. The Cantravu Card is the simplest way to experience East Africa during AFCON 2027 — here's exactly how it works.
The Cantravu Card has three steps.
Load. Browse. Book. Then you just show up.
That's it. But because a lot of "experience cards" overcomplicate things or bury the actual mechanics in fine print, here's exactly what each step looks like.
Step 1: Load your card
You buy the Cantravu Card and top it up with your chosen amount. The minimum load is £50. Most people load between £100 and £300, depending on how many experiences they're planning.
Your balance sits in your experience wallet — accessible through the Cantravu platform whenever you're ready to browse and book.
The load happens before you travel. By the time you land in Nairobi, Kampala or Dar es Salaam, your budget is already in place.
What this avoids: airport exchange rates, ATM queues on arrival, trying to calculate local currency mid-negotiation with an operator.
Step 2: Browse experiences
Once you're loaded, you open the Cantravu experience menu and filter by city and category.
Current cities:
- Nairobi (🇰🇪 Kenya)
- Kampala (🇺🇬 Uganda)
- Dar es Salaam (🇹🇿 Tanzania)
Current categories:
- Safari & wildlife
- Food & dining
- Culture & city
- Wellness & spa
- Adventure
There are 100+ experiences across the three countries. Each one has a clear price, a duration, a group size, and a full description of what's included.
Browse whenever. Filter by what you're in the mood for. Your balance shows what you can afford.
Step 3: Book and confirm
Once you've chosen your experience, you pick your date, confirm the booking, and pay using your card credit.
Everything is arranged on the back end — the operator is confirmed, the time slot is reserved, the details are sent to you. No back-and-forth. No "email us to check availability". You book like you'd book a cinema ticket.
Then you show up.
What happens when you arrive
You turn up at the meeting point, your booking reference confirms you're expected, and the experience starts.
No cash to handle. No currency conversations. No awkward "do you take cards?" moment at the door of a spa in Nairobi or a lodge gate in Bwindi.
Your host knows you're coming. You know you're covered. The day is sorted before it starts.
What about remaining balance?
Your balance doesn't disappear between experiences. Whatever you don't spend on the first booking is still there for the next one.
Book the Maasai Market tour on Tuesday. Have the Westlands rooftop dinner on Friday. Use the remaining balance for the Karen Spa the following week. The card travels with you throughout the tournament.
Is it complicated to set up?
No. The card is physical — you receive it, load it online, and that's the setup done. From there, browsing and booking works like any modern travel app.
If you've ever booked a hotel on Booking.com or a day trip on Viator, you already know how the Cantravu booking flow feels. It's that intuitive.
The one-liner
Buy the card before you fly. Load it with what you want to spend. Open the experience menu when you land. Pick what you want. Show up and have the time of your life.
Can you travel? CanTravu.
