CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe undertook an important two-day inspection visit to Tanzania and Kenya this week, part of ongoing preparations for AFCON PAMOJA 2027 — the first Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in East Africa since 1976.
Tanzania: stadium inspection and government talks
On Thursday 17 September, Motsepe travelled to Tanzania, visiting the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam and meeting with the Tanzanian government to review progress on tournament preparations. A press conference followed at 11:30 local time, where CAF and host officials discussed the state of readiness roughly nine months out from kick-off.
Kenya: facilities inspection
Motsepe then travelled to Kenya on Friday, meeting with the Kenyan government and inspecting facilities that will be used during the competition — continuing the same oversight process that took place in Tanzania a day earlier.
